Very nice course. I withhold the 5th star as I did not feel that it was a great value at the price (early afternoon tee time ~$130), but then again what really is at Disney? The course was in good shape but I was not overly impressed with the condition based on the greens fees. I've played courses just as nice/better for closer to $80, but then of course they were not at Disney. All of the course staff were excellent, everyone was friendly and accommodating. Rental clubs were newer and in good condition. I don't think this is normally the case based on my conversation with a gentleman who had played the course many times, but there was basically no rough on the course. He had warned me specifically to "just get out the wedge" if you hit it in the rough, but the only thick rough anyone in my group found was outside of the cart path almost in the back yard of one of the resort buildings. I didn't mind the fact there was no rough, it definitely suited my game as I hadn't swung a club in a few months. The same guy also warned me the greens would be the fastest I've ever played which was not the case at all. The greens were good, but they certainly were not exceptionally fast. I did learn a valuable Disney hack while at the golf course - the cheapest beer and cocktails I found anywhere on Disney property are here. If you're staying at one of the nearby resorts I would recommend taking a walk to the clubhouse and popping in for a couple $6 cocktails.

Played Disney Magnolia last week, a straight forward interesting golf course with the last few holes under renovation. With the renovation, it was understandable that those holes would not have proper irrigation. Lake Buena Vista has no excuse. Greens were true although they had creep from other parts of the golf course which did affect the role. Fairways terrific! Rough was bare or crispy depending on the part of the course. One of the workers said they have sprinklers for the fairways but he did not know if the rough was ever watered. Too penal for a resort course. Lots of water that penalizes shots that are not perfect. Bring plenty of balls and patience. We had an elderly gentleman in our group and were rushed by a ranger at the turn despite our cart GPS saying we were 5 mins ahead of pace. No waters despite nearly every other course in the area providing two complimentary bottles. Oh and did I mention the cute boats that drive by. The scenery is nice but after the 50th boat horn, especially during your backswing (which caused me to dump a ball in the water on a par 3), you will want to sink them like a game of battleship. They should communicate golf course etiquette to boat drivers. For $150-$200 per player, the value is not there. We had a much better experience at Celebration. Check out Waldorf Astoria, Shingle Creek, or others. Don't give Disney your business as it is certainly not the happiest place on turf.
