Twenty plus years ago, we moved into a rental unit in River North. Downsizing empty-nesters, the appeal to us was freedom from the typical ongoing home maintenance (lawn-moving, weeding, house painting, etc.) requirements we had been saddled with for most of our lives. It didn't take long to discover and appreciate all the other benefits accruing to River North townhouse residents. Within just a few short years (2002) we took advantage of the opportunity to purchase our unit. We have updated our home with the addition of hardwood floors, a new kitchen with modern appliances, and a new energy efficient air conditioning unit. Our next investment will be hurricane impact windows. Repairs have been limited to water heater replacement and a minor water leak that was quickly /easily diagnosed and stopped. Besides the extremely low maintenance, we have found real joy and satisfaction in the continued outstanding appearance of our neighborhood. While other communities reflect the passage of time in many visual ways, ours is pristine, well-manicured, and a source of pride. Even through the vagaries of severe weather, the staff has conscientiously striven to recover quickly from storm damage. Property values have fluctuated with market conditions yet have always enjoyed a premium in comparison to the general Northern Palm Beach County real estate market. We were fortunate to find an available residence in the Bluffs - River North twenty years ago and made the right decision to buy our home. Many years later, it is difficult to imagine a more suitable location.
