Worst psychiatrist office Ive ever been to. Extremely rude and unhelpful office staff. Dont bother trying to call them, they wont ever call you back after calling 10 times. You have to show up in person to talk to someone, and theyre very unprofessional. The receptionist at this office always gave me attitude and messed up my doctors note for international travel. Not only did she misspell the name of my medication, but after I asked for THREE ORIGINAL COPIES she gave me one original and a copy in black and white that I could have made at home. Then charged me $125 for the copy! I told the doctor and he was shocked and said the receptionist would refund that money to my account. She never did, and Ive called several times trying to see what on earth is going on. I found a new psychiatrist after this experience, because of the awful staff and the fact that the doctor spends less than a minute talking to you after you have to wait for over an hour. This place is embarrassing. Dont waste your time and mental health!

I can't believe that a doctor who deals with people with mental issues can be passive-aggressive with his patients. I brought up my discomfort about having to pay a no-show fee, and I thought it might have to do with my ADHD, which messed up my schedule that day. The doctor was "shocked" that I was using my diagnosis to justify not taking responsibility, in addition he stated that the ADHD is not a memory problem (which is not accurate as ADHD does have to do with memory), but that was not the point. I know that I'm responsible, but sometimes it can get tricky to manage certain situations in a stressful day. We continued the conversation, and I asked about another treatment. Dr. Carvallo told me, "I don't think that is a good option for you, as it's something you have to do every day, and you might forget it due to your ADHD." It was not a joke. Then he said, "I think I'm not going to be a good doctor for you." How is it possible that a psychiatrist can be that condescending and aggressive-passive with a patient? I never thought this could happen, but it does. Keep away from this practitioner.

I'm APPALLED at the service my daughter received! TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!!! They claim to deliver compassionate care, that is not the case with Dr. D. After paying a co-payment of over $230, which we have never had to pay for these services in the past, and waiting for over an hour in the waiting room, he saw her for about 5 minutes. He was EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL, INSULTING, AND UNCARING! He didn't even bother to get up from his chair in his office to invite her back to meet with him. He simple HOLLERED HER NAME, to which she wasn't sure what to do having never been to this office before. He then preceded to insult her about her intelligence, her religion, and her questions. She couldn't speak her concerns without being judged. He didn't answer any of her questions about medication options or even try to get to know her AS A NEW PATIENT and why she was on the medications she was on. He acted as though she was wasting his time. She went in because she needed the right medication for severe anxiety. Not only did he just refill the same Rx without explaining any other options, but her anxiety was so much higher coming out of his office than is was going in! She called me in anger and tears after her visit, telling me, "I hope he never sees another patient, no one should be treated this way!" Especially when they are going for emotional support!!!

Dr Decarvallho is a great Psychiatrist, he is very effective at his job overseeing his patients and he is well trained in prescribing the right medication. He is always pleasant and kind and he is the best psychiatrist I have ever had before.
