We initially began our home loan experience with another bank, who abruptly ended our pre-approval after reviewing my business deduction on my tax return. They were rude and condescending when I tried to explain my income. Our home dealer reached out to Dina Rosamond from First Federal Bank. She contacted me immediately. I think I was almost in tears when I answered the phone because I thought our chances of getting a loan were impossible. She lifted me up with her enthusiasm and assured me while looking at our information that she could get us approved. She was so compassionate and even apologized for how another company treated me. She understood our finances and knew exactly how to get us financed with the right program. I felt instantly at ease and confident. Where I had been tore down, she encouraged me to be proud of my business. I felt like I had just met my best friend. She was amazing through the entire process. Dina called me and emailed us everyday, getting us through the approval process as quickly as possible. She even called during her personal time to check on how I was feeling and to calm any worries I had, as purchasing a home can be very stressful. It was not uncommon to hear her car on the road or cooking in the background. A few problems arose during the survey process with encroachments, and through her contacts and ingenuity, we were able to tackle them and reach closing. I know we wouldn't have gotten our loan approved if it hadn't been for Dina and Brittany, and others in her team. She was amazing and I never thought a loan officer could be so personable, funny and compassionate. We were so lucky to have her by our side through the journey. Not all heroes wear capes, sometimes they are ordinary people doing extraordinary things through kindness, compassion and going the extra mile to help others make their dreams come true. First Federal Bank is lucky to have her and I encourage anyone looking for a loan to apply here first. They made me feel like family, not just numbers on a page.
