        If anybody is ever thinking about getting a mortgage through CenterState Bank, save yourself the time and headache. They were my only option a few years ago when I couldn’t get a traditional Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac mortgage, and I was forced to go the portfolio loan route. Long story short, CenterState seems to be a completely incompetent bank. Horrible customer service not only from my loan officer, but from almost every staff member I’ve been in contact with over the last 2 years. They don’t even have an online portal to pull statements and tax docs, and I physically have to drive to the branch every time I need anything. Today, I waited for 30 minutes to receive tax documents and statements, and the employee told me that she couldn’t help me because everybody at the bank was in a meeting, and blamed it on Covid. I’m sorry but Covid isn’t an excuse for poor service. How does a bank of this size operate like this? It’s 2020!
