Used Cliff for years. Service has gone downhill. Was told my refund would be a certain amount, but after two months of no refund, with zero help from his office staff, I finally reached the IRS myself. Was told my refund would be reduced by $1800, because he had entered that I did NOT receive my stimulus money. His secretary even called me to ask if I received it and I told her I DID. Numerous emails to his office and no explanation or apology. Mistakes happen, but at least own it, apologize, especially when Im told Id get a certain amount and I had planned for that amount in my budget. Paid him $700 for this. My money was good enough to them, but when a mistake is made that cost me $1800 out of my refund, it seems an explanation is not. Screwed my parents up as well. We will be using another tax preparer next season.
