On January 4, 2018, I contacted Emelys Towing Service of Hialeah, FL to arrange a junk car sale of my Chevrolet Venture van. The first call was around 12:00PM and Frank (apparently a manager) said they could give me $300 for the vehicle and the tow truck would be AT MY HOUSE between 1:00 and 2:00. He actually said the truck was on its way and I should be there waiting for it. Hours passed and, when the truck never showed up, I made the second call around 3:00 PM. Again, Frank answered. He confirmed my address and the type of vehicle I was selling and said the truck was "on the road and on the way". More time passed with no truck, and I called again at 4:15PM. At that time, another man answered the phone and, when I told him the story, he asked me to send a text message of the address and vehicle type. I sent both, as well as the agreed price of $300 for confirmation. He replied at 4:30 by indicating the truck was "on the way". Finally, at 5:45PM, the tow truck arrived. The driver took pictures of the engine, VIN number, and all angles of the van. He sent the info to his boss at the company. Right away, the boss called him back and I was given the phone to talk with him. The man (who said he had taken over from Frank at 4:00) said they could not pay the $300 as originally agreed because the van had an "aluminum intake manifold" instead of a plastic one and this was an extremely important part for them to sell. As a result, the best offer he could make was $220. The entire time I waited was for nothing because I wanted the originally agreed price of $300 and sent them on their way. At any of the previous phone contacts they could have asked for the VIN number, or specific parts that would change the price of the car. I suspect they were trying to hustle me to get a better price after making me wait for hours.

Extremely unprofessional. I called them and waited and waited for 4 hours. Multiple excuses "we're almost there". I wasted a full day. They are LIARS. They don't even deserve 1 star.
