Island Oaks RV Resort

Our week at Island oaks was "OK". The sights are close together and the neighbor hookups are directly next to the patio of adjacent sights. Having a sewer hookup next to our picnic table was less than desirable and this placement requires extended lines to reach for everyone. We called and reserved only about 1 week before our spring break getaway after learning the pool at our original destination was closing for resurfacing starting the day we arrived without notifying us of the situation. When booking i was sure to ask if the pool and swim beach would be open during our stay and was told that they would except for the inflatables woul not be out until May. Upon our arrival, one of the first things I was handed was a piece of paper stating that the swim beach and lake would be closed for 4 days for upgrades. Of course these were the best weather days to enjoy the beach. After looking at yellow tape over the entrance to the beach for several days, a load of sand was spread and new chairs placed on the beach. I did ask for a discount for our stay because one of the main attractions for us was closed and was told a manger would contact us as soon as they came in. (Never happened) I was also told at check-in that with all the video streaming, the WiFi would be slow. This was an understatement as we were never able to get any Internet service at all from the 3 available access points in range of our site. I still give it a three star as it was clean and we managed to enjoy our stay (with a day trip to the beach in St Augustine) just would be nice to get all you paid for and to have all the amenities you were promised.

Second stay and had a great time! Beautiful grounds and lots of activities for the kids. Love that all the kids can safely play together. Ice cream was yummy! Kids loved the games and the activities staff were great. We did have some issues with the internet dropping and encountered a very tired restaurant employee (not her fault, you could tell she was overwhelmed). Also some loud music from a nearby campsite that went too late in the night. But, honestly I would give 4.5 if I could because the experience overall was wonderful.

What an awesome park! I love the layout. Park is huge! I would love to go back when the lake stuff is in to let the kids play, we called and asked if all amenities were open and they said yes so we were disappointed when we found that the lake was not open, but it is spring and still cold at night so I get it.
