W Fort Lauderdale

Sheet were dirty 2 times ice was asked for and never made it to the room. Coffee maker in room without coffee cups asked service for cups and they didn't have any. Was charged for some munch box for 8.99 and could not get it refunded. Did not eat any of the items from the room. We had a cool corner ocean front view with balcony for $2500 for the 4 night stay. Pool did not have enough chairs and the beach chairs filled up quickly

Destination W at Fort Lauderdale South Beach where the impeccable staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and at home, while being completely polite and accommodating, as if they missed us. Even ensuring that the accessible pet menu had yummies ready to be delivered in the event the short trip south had left Samson & Delilah famished, as if! Shortly upon arrival a knock on the door announcing a very Happy Birthday with balloons, a piece of silky-smooth chocolate cake and card thanking us for choosing them. How very thoughtful and special! The stunning oceanfront room provided all of the things. The natural light was so inviting and had me anticipating that 7:05am sunrise, relaxing sounds of the ocean waves that could rock me to sleep, not to mention the pleasant phenomenon sea breeze over and over refreshing my soul. Beats from the wet deck DJ shimmering on the poolside waters kept sun kissed guests entertained while sipping on tropical cocktails and the aromas of seaside grills preparing succulent resort destination favorites. The oversized couch on the balcony provided much comfort while the 4 of us enjoyed the view, the sounds, and the smells. (the Snhnoz was working overtime) The most memorable views were the mesmerizing lollipop sunrises on the horizon both mornings. Simply breathtaking to witness. I highly recommend it if you haven't had the pleasure. We took an adventure on the complementary W bikes along the scenic A1A beachfront, what a treat! Its the quickest way to get from one spot to another, especially this time of year. Mark at the front desk was completely engaged when I checked out, he wanted to know what my favorite part was about Tortuga and I could tell he was genuinely interested. He wanted to know what if anything W could have done better for our stay. I actually began to tear up leaving I was sad to leave. The feeling of being sincerely appreciated was everything!

Upscale is a joke. We stay at Marriot Vacation rentals that blow this place away. Our room was gross, old nasty soap left in the showers. No paper towel, trashbags or laundry soap. They basically pat you down to cone into a pool bc they don't allow any food or drink even for a small child/baby. Never have been to a "Residence" that doesn't allow outside food. Would not stay here again if it was the only place available. Rooms: Ours was dirty and not stocked at all.

Credit Card cloned while at W Hotel, Ft Lauderdale! That credit card was not used at all during our stay in Ft Lauderdale. It remains in our possession and was left unattended only in the room. The card was physically swiped at a reader in a Hollywood Beach hotel a few days after we returned home. Reported it properly with hotel security and authorities. No contact from hotel management. Disappointing. Frustrating. Also, rooms are not 5 star, too much deferred maintenance, and in need of update.
