HOPE South Florida (Admin Office)

My family has tried getting assistance from this agency since April 2023. First they advised that you have to be Homeless for six months to get assistance. My family has been homeless almost 7 months with no assistance from this agency. We paid Hope South Florida a visit on October 6, 2023. We signed in. They took information from us and advised that someone would reach pout. They also advised that they is they provide shelter they will be separating me from my 17 year old son who is homeschooling and my adult disable son that suffer from serious anxiety. A family should not have to be separated and disenfranchised to receive help.Another thing regarding my situation. My family is not experiencing ongoing homelessness because we did not pay our rent. We truly feel we are experiencing ongoing homeless due retaliation, discrimination, unfair, and deceptive practices with The Broward County Housing Authority. The Broward County Housing Authority approved a property in April 2022 that should have failed initial inspection due to major leaks, rigged toilettes fixtures, clogged drains, broken faucets, missing window screens etc. My family was also homeless in 2022 at no fault of our own due to mold, poisonous toxins/gases from ongoing leaks in the wall. We were subjected to Black filters, black water, and black residue around the AC filters. We feel BCHA also negligently passed that property in 2017 with a rusty drain that we later found out is an indication of Chinese Drywall. We lived in that property from 2017 -2022 until we became ill and the plumbing pipes in the walls leaked for 8 days straight. for BCHA to place us in another property with leaks and signs of mold with multiple issues caused an abatement of both properties.I would hate to think that Hope South Florida is intentionally ignoring my family request for assistance to co conspire with the Broward County Housing Authority.
