We've used Capt. Doug several times and have been pleased with service and fair pricing. Then to top it off we needed an emergency repair and he's always a week or two out but he squeezed us in. Be patient he'll get to you and you will be pleasantly surprised. Services: General repairs & maintenance, Engine repair

I couldn't be more pleased with the service I had at Capt.Dougs. I needed a complicated repair and they were honest and fair. This is the kind of shop that you need to service your boat. Boat owners need a repair center they can rely on and this is it. Service: Engine repair

Shady Service Shop. Most of the reviews here are years old so I called the shop for more information and the mechanic said he did not have an answers for me , that Doug is not in and to fill out a request online to have my boat looked at. Hmmm So I did, and after filling out the service request online I received what appears to be an automated response and my wait time was two weeks , and a Thanks for my business. During those two weeks I sent a few e-mail updates about what kind of service my boat needed and there was no reply at all. On the second week I sent another email , asking if my appointment time was still valid , and I got an email back Yes , and Thanks for my business. On the morning I brought my boat over Doug was not there and the mechanic said there was no service repair order to fill out , there is Nothing to sign and to just park my boat across the street in a dirt lot and he will get to it. At this point I honestly did not like the way this was going. Whos dirt lot is that across the street anyway? There are no street lamps to keep the lot lit at night , and there a rundown trailer park a short walk down the dirt road. I was worried my boat was not safe being parked there and If anything did happen to my boat , Doug would not be reasonable or held reliable because I Never signed a repair order. Two days went by and they never even touched my boat. I called the shop and there was no answer.. So I emailed again and received a short cryptic reply. At this point I was not happy and I just wanted to get my boat back. What kind of shady business are they running here anyway.. when Doug cant even talk with his customers over the phone or in person , its all done through emails that has fake feel to it, while being kept in the dark. You know it doesnt have to be that way , there are other service and repair shops available over in Deltona or Deland who also work on older model boats. I call one of them in Deltona and this nice service technician was taking the time to have a conversation with me - talking to me over the phone for several minutes , answering all my questions and giving me some good free advice for my boat. It was such a relief knowing I had other options out there , and that I didnt have to deal with cryptic Doug through emails anymore.
