What a great dentist office. Caring staff, competitive pricing, and Doctor that knows his stuff and is as caring as the staff that works with him. Would definitely recommend a friend or family member seeking a dentist.

I have been coming to this off for several years and have a had a great experience. Dr. Z is an expert at his craft. However, today was a huge disappointment to me and my 5 stars quickly dropped to 3. I guess my insurance dropped Dr. Z the day before my appointment. However, I was still called by the staff to ensure I was coming and verifying my insurance. When I arrived for my appt they again verified my insurance. During none of this time did they tell me my insurance had dropped them. I proceeded with xrays and received a treatment plan only for them to return and THEN tell me I was out-of-network and provide me a quote to pay or search for my own dentist who was in network. I thought about paying, but the more I thought about it I decided to leave.
Here are my issues (especially as being a provider myself and caring for patients):
As a patient, I should have been notified at the front desk prior to taking me back that my insurance was out-of-network and I would have to assume most of the cost. I was told the person who verified the insurance might not have understood that. Ok, so they should not be verifying insurance etc.
I had to pay for my xrays that were done, now i will have to do them all over again and pay twice. I should have been given the option to decide if I wanted to be seen out-of-network and pay for them. When I asked for a copy of the xrays, the receptionist stumbled over her words and never told me how I could get them, I just left $45 wasn't worth the argument.
I was made to feel like they brought me back just to see if I would take the bait and pay out-of-pocket vs finding another dentist.
My appt time had been changed to 11 from 10 a few days prior and the receptionist told me this was good news as I could get all my work done that day. Not true, due to the insurance issue, they told me there would not be enough time even if I did consider doing the work and paying out-of-network. So I changed my time for their convenience not mine.
Again, Dr. Z is great at his work, but from a business and insurance standpoint, terrible service. Make sure you specifically ask if your insurance is in-network and you will likely have a good experience.
