Leaving one star because a lesser rating is not possible. This provider prescribed a medication without properly informing herself of the patients chart.
When we were informed that my husband had been prescribed a new medication by Leah Burpee, him and I had questions and expressed them to his nurse. The nurse administering the medication stated that the nurse practitioner stated thats what I prescribed, take it or leave it after presenting her with our queries. My husband and I did not perceive this as an acceptable answer when discussing his medical care. In an attempt to explain the root of my concerns I pulled up his chart via the patient portal on my own phone, and reiterated the proper plan of action that was already detailed and documented to the nurse. After the nurse relayed the message to Leah she returned and stated that the provider (Leah Burpee) went ahead and changed the medication to what was already recommended on the report. Had Leah herself taken the time to read through my husbands chart she would have known there was already a plan of action in place. My husbands nurse had a point when she stated this is a new provider, she doesnt know him from a can of paint. That phrase in and of itself is disheartening when referring to the person making medical decisions for you, the person whom you are in a sense trusting with your life.
