Residence Inn by Marriott Daytona Beach Oceanfront

Stayed at this hotel for 1 night. Im a business traveler and what I want is pretty simple. Clean room, hot shower, comfortable bed and quiet for a restful sleep. I arrived around 7 pm. I had checked in on the app 4 hrs prior saying I was arriving at 6:30 pm and I asked for a dental kit, shaving kit and extra pillows and cleaning for my room. Based on the reviews cleaning seemed to be an issue with mold in the bathrooms. To my surprise the reviews were right there was mold in the bathroom and the shampoo container off the wall. None of my lots of requests where there when I arrive so I had to call for them. When I went to shower the water took ages to get hot and the water pressure was like a little bit stronger than a mist. The carpet in the room is all ripped up at the corners and the ice is cloudly meaning the water filter needs to be replaced. Rooms need TLC and Marriott needs to step it up. I couldnt sleep because the box air was so loud and I could hear all the noises in the hallway. I didnt call downstairs to complain because I was exhausted and thats the last thing I wanted after a long travel day. Marriott brand should mean consistency and that you should expect a good and standard experience. This hotel was not it. The next day instead of staying at a hotel I asked to stay with a friend because I was traumatized from my experience at this hotel.

Cool spot right on the ocean, with the edge of water a 100 yards or so away. Staff was cordial, the breakfast was an ample day starter with good choices. Rooms are dated, but spacious. The one bedroom was larger than my first apartments with full kitchen and refrigerator with an ice maker. While we did not eat in, there was a spacious dining room table. Had dinner right across the street at Milliess, delish! That said, if you rent here just go in with reasonable expectations, I mean its a Residence Inn, and its on the ocean where properties take a beating. The 15 dollar daily parking was no big deal, as Ive paid as much as 50 at other properties, but expect it. Breakfast and happy hour will more than offset the parking fee!

I was concerned after I booked it because of recent bad reviews. We had a great stay. Great breakfast, comfortable beds , friendly staff. Very comfortable. The hotel has a lot of wear and tear but I think the price compensates for that. Parking was easy and the hotel is ocean front

The staff here are really make this place wonderful. Sandy, John, Shiela, and G were the regular staff during our stay and work diligently to make sure you're satisfied. The rooms are a bit dated, but the 2 bedroom suite with the full kitchen provided plenty of space for our group, and the ability to cook plenty of meals. The beds are SUPER comfortable. Breakfast never disappointed. Happy Hour is great. The food hits the spot. A call to the front desk if extra towels, tp, etc., items are delivered almost as soon as you hang up the phone. The location is out of the main spotlight of downtown, which is perfect for those wanting to be on the beach, but away from the crowds. Just a short drive down A1A and you're in the mix of it all. Overall, if we were to come back to Daytona Beach, we would definitely come back here.
