We recently decided to upgrade the windows in our home and after doing some research, I came across Locktight Impact windows, doors & roofing. From the initial consultation to the actual installation, the whole process was a breeze, with constant communication at each step of the process. The team was courteous, professional, and efficient. They helped us choose the perfect windows for my home and the installation was done in no time. We are very satisfied with the results! Why is so hard to find an honorable company to do business with? September 2022, we purchased hurricane/impact windows from LockTight. The original sales guy was nice enough. He talked about how the power bill will decrease, the noise level will decrease and how beautiful the windows would look when they send their cleaning team to wash all the windows after installation. The original quoted price was extremely high. After the first quote, they show you deals and knock off a bunch of money. However, even with all the discounts, its still a large expense. In March 2023 the windows were ready to be installed. I was super excited since the 6-month time frame wasnt so bad considering there were still supply chain issues at the time. The windows and doors were installed properly, but after the start of the installation, the project manager was never there. The installers were left unsupervised. During the time the installers were without a supervisor, they were not careful and there was quite a bit of damage. They cracked the marble floor, damaged a windowsill (I understand that may be expected) and broke chandelier crystals. The really aggravating part was the installers didnt report the damage to me, they left it to me to find the issues. LockTight did pay for repairs to replace the crystal and marble (I had extra in my garage), but the windowsill is still damaged to this day. When the project manager was present, his biggest priority seemed to be telling us how we could earn $200 plus in gift cards if we wrote good reviews. Im thinking to myself, the windows arent even in, how can I possibly write a review? Thats crazy. After the initial installation we noticed two windows were defective. They had a wave and needed to be replaced. This took a while as our account got lost in the shuffle, so to speak. The replacement process took almost as long as the wait for initial installation. When I followed up, after months of not receiving any updates, nothing had been done. A few months later, LockTight replaced only one of the two windows. We would have to wait, again, for them to reorder the second window. During the time we were waiting for the second window, LockTight sent crews to fix wall damage with plaster, caulking, etc. Thats when I learned LockTight would not be the cleaning windows. WHAT?! This makes no sense. YUP, no longer cleaning the windows even though their representative promised it. We are not a window cleaning company, was their response. They informed me their employees were no longer allowed to clean the windows. It was not being done properly and they were scratching the windows during the process. LockTight was tired of replacing windows damaged by their employees. "Its not in the contract", they said. So, I now have brand new DIRTY windows. Who delivers a product that filthy and says, ALL DONE. This makes no sense If I bought a new car, would they let me drive it off the lot before cleaning it NO. Is it in the contract, NO. Since LockTight implemented this new policy months after my initial installation, they should have honored what the salesperson promised, even if they had to pay an outside company. If I was informed at the contract signing, then it would be a different story. So, now, after the almost 12-month process it took to finish the initial installation, wait for replacements, and wait for the damage from the unsupervised installers to be fixed, I had to pay several hundred dollars (on top of the tens of thousands of dollars already spent on the windows) to have the windows cleaned. One would think LockTight might be able to use some of the gift cards for reviews they apparently have on hand to pay for positive reviews to pay for a company to clean the windows if they cant/wont come out of pocket. And so, after all this, they left me no other choice but to write a negative review for which Im sure LockTight isnt going to be sending me any gift cards.
