Ive been to Sugar twice now. I was referred by a friend to Hugo because I loved her short haircut and I was short for the first time in my life. The first time I went, I described what I wanted. A French bob with curtain bangs. I explained that I wanted movement and for it to swing when I turned my head. I wanted to stay away from crown layers and focus the weight in the lower part of the cut. I did not show any pictures. What Hugo gave me was very different than what I described. The bottom tapered in at the nape and he removed a lot of weight that I had wanted to keep for the bob style. He insisted that it was simply the blow dry that made it look different. I could tell that wasnt quite true, but I could also tell it was a great haircut and flattering, even if different than what Id wanted. So I went home and washed my hair and restyled it. It looked a lot better, though still not what Id wanted. I spent four months letting that cut grow out. As I did, it was clear that this was indeed a great cut. It grew out beautifully and ultimately I enjoyed it and was able to learn to style it nicely. I let it grow 4 whole months so that when I came back I could give him pictures this time and then surely I could get a great cut that I actually wanted Not quite. The second time I came in, I was super prepared. I showed several pics. I explained what I hadnt liked about the earlier cut and that this time I wanted a true French bob, with longer in the front sides and long curtain bangs, no tapering in the nape. You can see for yourself, thats not what I got. I got a shag. A mullet-y shag. Like the exact opposite of what I requested. I forgot to take after pics after hed styled it, and again he insisted that it was exactly what I asked for, I just need to style it my way. (Note: Why would a hairdresser style ones hair different from what one asked for? He said it was so he could see the cut properly, but surely he could do that then restyle the hair the way I wanted it, right?) Since the last time I ended up liking the cut, and because I hate rocking the boat, I finished, paid him, tipped over 20% (I know I know whats wrong with me) and went home to wash and restyle it. I hoped maybe this was like last time and Id be able to do something cute with this cut. Ive styled my hair 3 times now and cant get it to do anything other than what it does, which is to say, long in the back, heavy in the front and on top. He did a lot of thinning at the bottom so it just hangs there and hardly has any movement. Here are pics after I did my best to turn it into a French bob for the 3rd time. Its impossible, and this time I really really dislike it. I wouldnt have left this review except that I texted Hugo and let him know I was unhappy. He has ignored my text and that upsets me. I was polite and respectful and simply said I have tried styling it twice and its not the cut I wanted. Is there any way to get closer to what I wanted or is it necessary to let it grow out? From what I can tell, it could be salvaged somewhat right away by cutting off some of the shag in the back and giving it a blunter shape. No answer. To me thats the pinnacle of lack of care and professionalism. So even though the salon is nice and friendly (such a plus in Miami) I cannot recommend it.

I have not visited him yet, although I tried to contact him by phone but they did not answer any of the several calls.

Ive been doing my lashes with Yenny and OMG I dont know what I would do without this girl. She always does amazing and full lashes. Totally recommend. Gracias Chica
