American Inn of Cocoa

I have never seen such a display of outright racism. I know India is a place of cultural and class system where they judge people based off of their color and the darker your skin means your less in society however, we are in America and you can not just charge 3 days for an African American family whos mother was hospitalized due to their original home being remodeled for issues. They then choose to stay at this hotel for a day before the mother had to return back to the hospital. The daughter does not live near cocoa so she stayed at the hotel with her sister in-law so they could be close to their sick mother. They were then met with an Indian man who barely spoke English yelling at them and demanding they leave. The Mother who just returned from the hospital for heart issues was then troubled by this man yelling repeatedly for his reason of no visitors and though they only stayed 1 day and paid for 3 and no refund was given except $20 cash as he continued to invasively yell at this elderly couple and their daughter. As someone who saw the video-I am in complete shock that a company named after our country is displaying such horrible injustice to a kind family going through a tragedy. They chose to be generous enough to let go and let God I think that is beyond kind of them but I am too afraid to be silent in fear of what he may do to the next family that may visit this location. I came to see their daughter and took her to Starbucks to find out how her mother was doing and I was just shocked. They werent too racist to take their money. He was literally repeating in broken English no visitors The place did have roaches and those visitors I wouldnt allow in my room but its acceptable for his business? I doubt the place would pass inspection but thats not here nor there as the real problem lays with the owner who felt justified kicking an elderly couple out of a hotel room they paid for after returning from the hospital. They signed nothing stating that they were not allowed to have their family there while she was in the hospital. This should be properly addressed and not acceptable for any business in this country-I am completely outraged and my heart goes out to the kindness of this family but i cant be silent after witnessing the video of this mans behavior.

Good place to pass the night or a week, it is a very clean place, but the only thing is that the cleaning lady turns off the AC all the time and when you get there after work the room is super Hot and the AC takes for ever to cool the room, that is the only bad thing on this place.

The owner charged me for two occupancy, and wanted 20 bucks cash In Addition to the double rate. Reason: chicanery. He said "key deposit". Don't plan to cook food, or sleep in. They knock on your door around 9 am every morning. Roaches. Tiny baby roaches and big teens. Good for "another dirty room" episode by Dan Bell ( YouTube).
