BayCare Behavioral Health- Morton Plant Hospital

My daughter is here having her 3rd baby and we arent allowed to go in at the same time to meet the new baby. This hospital is the absolute worst place to have a baby. Dont do it. If you have siblings of the new baby and you want to video or take a pic of the bigs meeting the little YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO DO IT. IT IS AWFUL WAY TO TREAT THE GRANDPARENTS. AND THE LITTLE SIBLINGS.

Took ambulance to this hospital to get checked out because I was loosing my balance.. ended up getting arrested for trespassing and thrown in jail for 3 days. Security claims I was harassing people which is outrageous. And lied about asking me to leave multiple times. When I decided to leave I was arrested waiting for my uber.. Security lied on me multiple times. I have evidence against them. And I'm waiting for a court date.

They are extremely unprofessional and rude. Had an appointment for my grandson that somehow got all messed up. They texted wrong time and my daughter called to let them know it was wrong. Then, not knowing they called her they called me and had a whole different time. She left work early for this appointment(we have been trying to get him help for 18 months now here!!!!) and was cancelled on as she arrived. They even said we might have the wrong name but still refused to help her. Absolutely disgusted with this group. They should be ashamed. Eighteen months of being cancelled on, rescheduling, cancelling, doctor left, and other issues. Do not use them.

I volunteerily admitted my self in January 2023, I needed help & The staff at Morton Plant behavoiral health helped me greatly, I benefited from their services, struggling with a mental impairment is never easy.

I understand that Florida has no state tax, and it clearly shows by the way they run facilities like this. These hospitals are supposed to help people with mental illness. I can honestly say I've never been more disgusted. It's downright disturbing that they can put somebody in here who's depressed, but NOT showing any signs of psychotic features. This place is like a scene from One Flew Over A Cuckoos Nest, and I'm not exaggerating. What's even more disturbing is they can hold a patient past the 72 hour Bakers Act against their will. You will receive exactly 10 minutes a day for treatment with a psychologist. There is no other counseling. He/She will not listen to what you have to say. Trust me, this is a jail, and these people aren't qualified to help you. The staff simply does not care, and they lack communication skills. They assume everyone that's admitted knows the drill. If you ask them for anything they are put out. The patients are severely ill. Some people have been there for several months. Most have schizophrenia, and they are violent. If you're a normal person this place will send you out in worse shape than you entered with PTSD that will last a lifetime. The treatment I observed, and received was not only egregious, but also borderline abusive.
