I have worked with this company for almost 5 years now and I can honestly say, without a doubt, this is the best work experience I have ever had. From day one I felt as if I had joined a family and that remains true to this day. I am so proud to work for a company that believes kindness, compassion and being fair are the keys to successful relationships with both clients and staff. From our marketing director out in the field and our intake specialist in office, to the scheduling team, HR department and nursing staff, First Light Home Care of Pinellas provides excellent service and sincere care to all. They will always go above and beyond to do what is right. I highly recommend FLHC for anyone seeking personalized care for a loved one or for anybody seeking employment with a company who truly cares.

Strangely enough, I am writing a review for a company that we are not actually using. We have been having some extra in-home healthcare through a service for my father, who lives in an ALF and the cost is not sustainable. So, I have been calling around trying to see if there was a more affordable option. Although First Light is comparable to the service we've been using cost-wise, and therefore not an option for us, I simply have to take a moment to say that my brief interaction with their intake coordinator, Brian Wirth, made me wish we could use them. He reached out immediately with very helpful information, and even after I explained that they were out of our price range, he responded thoughtfully, and provided a few helpful suggestions. He had no reason to do that, we weren't going to be a customer. I think that can be an indicator of the kind of business and people who work for First Light . Just wanted to share my experience.

My mother in law who, lives with my wife and I, has been a customer of First Light for the past 5 years. She needs 24 hour a day assistance and we rely on First Light to help in the process to allow my wife and I to work. We have requested their help for about24 hours per week. As a regular business practice they have people calling in sick, taking arbitrary days off with no notice (on average 1 - 6 hourly shift a week). This requires my wife to work from home with continuous and often time consuming interruptions. The companies attitude is they dont have enough staff. Its not a COVID-19 related behavior as it has been continuous since we started with the company. Also, my mother in law requires physical help to stand and exercise but in many cases the aide themselves are physically unable to help.
This company has shown a complete lack of compassion, willingness to meet their obligations and any sense of how a health care provider business should be operated. Money first, caring for patients a distant 2nd.
If your not stuck with this company then definitely find another company.

The agency's abilities to provide health care services and caregivers are lacking in so many areas. The priority is profits and providing an income to the caregivers, not the elderly clients they are supposed to serve.
