    I encountered an unpleasant experience after our HOA changed management company. The new company, Compass Rose Management, sent me a late fee notice, which I knew was impossible since I always pay my dues once a year in advance. Christy Velmont, the representative from Compass Rose Management, spoke in a very polite tone of voice, as a company representative should, and explained that they were basing their records on what was transferred over from the previous management company. She also mentioned that if I had a problem with this balance, I would need to investigate the matter myself, or else I would be charged hourly for Compass Rose Management's investigation. This expectation seemed unusual, as I believed that the management company should handle such issues. After a prolonged conversation, Christy Velmont finally provided me with the old statement of my account from the previous management company, and I found two extra transactions in the statement that had no supportive documents, resulting in a balance transfer that was $75 short. I naively assumed that the investigation was concluded. However, Christy Velmont insisted that I call the old management company myself, which I found rather strange. When I called the old management company, they refused to speak to me and simply hung up the phone. While the HOA removed the late fee from my account, the $75 shortfall remains unresolved. My letters to Compass Rose Management requesting the reinstatement of my $75 have gone unanswered. This suggests that there are more people than just Christy Velmont who are solely involved in verbal communication and do nothing else.

    They get rich spending your money while your association turns into a slum. They somehow manage to get in with the board president to the point where they control the BOD, rather than the other way around. Avoid.

    CRM is the management company for the HOA where we live. Very unprofessional in regards to not responding to several emails I have sent. Isn't their job to manage the HOA's business?! Maybe after seeing this, they will respond to emails.

Russel, we no longer manage you and have not for quite some time, so by statute we are restricted. I am sorry that your Board or current management company will not assist you but it's not our responsibility. Lashing out with unfounded accusations while telling half truths and omitting critical details will not get you any more attention. It's unfortunate that you're using this as a bully pulpit to disseminate untruths. Best of luck with your current management company and Board.
