Gator's Portside Port Canaveral

Tiki bar is awesome, right on the water, but service can be slow and the food is (slightly above) mediocre bar food. There are many (much) better restaurants at the Port Canaveral, but this is a good place to drink cheap beer and watch college football or March Madness. One of the best spots to watch cruise ships leave port or a SpaceX booster arrive from active duty. The Space Coast Gator Club meets here, so bumping it from 3 to 4 stars! Go Gators! UPDATE: Gator's Dockside is now Gator's Portside, which does work better. Other than some new signage and a (slightly) updated menu, it is still the same joint though.

I was REALLY impressed with the food. To start, the menu is interesting with appetizing selections that are beyond the normal things you typically see and the prices were very friendly. Seafood Nachos came out on a platter that would have satisfied 4 people. Lobster Quesadillas were outstanding. The fried Gator Tail was exceptionally tender...but the star of the meal for me was their Steak Poutine. It was one of the best dishes of Poutine that I've EVER had South of the Canadian border. I would travel/drive out of my way to seek out the Poutine again. The service was fantastic...they were already busy and we had a big group of about 25 Pirates who were all going out on a Cruise ship together yhe next day...and the staff handled it very smoothly. The music and waterside mood was FUN FUN FUN. Highly recommend you take a drive out to the Port and enjoy watching the ships come in at GATORS
