Course is hard as hell, both literally and figuratively.

Solid course for the price, greens still need a little work. Would be 5 star if the staff wasnt weird. The guy at cart return was boasting about nearly fighting a customer earlier in the day and asked why? when asked to break a $10 bill for a tip. He just pocketed it instead.

Played today 4/1/2024 and was the second tee time off. There were 3 of us in our group. I will first say that I would play again here. I felt the value was good. That being said, here are the pros and cons that I would report back on today. The Pros: The course was in good shape for being redone in the last year. There was one temporary green (which sucked) and there were a few others that were still getting attention, but overall the greens ran well and the rest of the course was in pretty good shape. Not the best course I have played, but compared to others in this area, I felt it was a good value. The bag drop, pro shop and starter were all very nice and professional. Same with the restaurant and bar (even though we just had one drink after our round) The course had GPS on the carts, but it was not very accurate. We used it as a general guideline to try and avoid water and sand traps, but in the end we used our own rangefinder for yardage as some of them were off more than 15 yards on a shot. Pace of play teeing off Monday morning at 7:53 was under 4 hours, but the 3 of us would have easily been 3 hours if not for waiting every hole. And now the Cons: Let's start with the actual pace of play for a group that could have finished much sooner. We had one foursome in front of us and waited on every hole (almost every shot) and come to find out that they were not waiting every hole, which could have made it acceptable, but they just did not let us play through. Second complaint would have to be with the Ranger. Nice man, but was either not trained on doing his job, or just wasn't willing to do anything. I asked on the back nine if there must have been several groups ahead of us and he said just the one. But his answer for not asking them to allow us to play through, was because they were playing at an acceptable pace. Of course for someone who just likes golf etiquette, it would have been nice if the foursome would have let us go ahead of them. Either get a ranger who knows how to do his job (communicating politely with golfers on what makes sense) or don't have one at all. The next complaint would be with the beverage cart person. We first saw her as we were finishing hole 8, but since we had never played the course before and assumed we would be near the clubhouse "making the turn" we just waved her by. There was also a notification on the GPS that said the halfway house was open. Open? Heck it wasn't even finished being built. Needless to say we didn't get any drinks or food and then low and behold, our cart person came around on hole 17. Why? It just wasn't meant to be. All in all, I will go back and play here again, they could have had an off day...and the course should continue to improve. It would be nice if they informed us "new people" a little better before we played. We were very thirsty and hungry by the time we were done, but didn't want to stick around.

This is the second year I have played HH. They are doing lots of work on the course which is nice to see. The work never interfered with our play. I thought it was in good shape last year when I played it a couple of times. Just played it yesterday and am going back next week. The greens have a few issues but they are working on it. The greens were still good, they will simply be better once they are done. Love the layout, staff are great and we played as a twosome in 3.5 hrs. The price is good too for a quality course. Keep up the great work!!!

Owen, thank you for the review. I am sorry the cart staff acted in such a manor. Curious to get a description of the boasting cart guy. You can email to [email protected]
