We have been advised by G.B. Bose - Ameriprise Financial Services, principal G.B. Bose, for 9 years, and have been very pleased with the services we have received. In particular, the focus on our specific financial goals has been invaluable. Not only has G.B. Bose and his team facilitated and proactively managed investments that fit our personal level of risk tolerance and earnings objectives, but they have also provided non-investment related advice that facilitate our life goals. For many years I believed I needed a financial advisor, but was intimidated, fearing that the approach would be negative (e.g. imposition of an extreme savings regime), or that I would not be able to understand what was being done with my hard earned money. This experience has been the opposite of what I feared. G.B. Bose's approach has been non-judgmental, starting from the perspective of where we were initially, clarifying where we want to end up, and then tailoring advice and our portfolio to achieve that end. They have done an excellent job of facilitating our understanding of our diversified portfolio without making us feel uninformed. They have facilitated not only investing, but also spending from our income streams in a way that does not detract from the health of our overall portfolio. It has been a relief to finally have a financial adviser who assists in achieving our life goals in a holistic manner. In addition to investment advice, G.B. Bose has advised regarding insurance, taxes, pensions, real property transactions, social security, estate planning, etc., none of which generated fees for the business, but are part of the expert holistic approach most of us need from our financial planner. G.B. Bose emphasizes that his company is not just a stock or investment broker, but rather provides full service financial advising and planning.  This is, I think, the biggest value and we definitely take advantage of it as much as possible. Yes, there is a cost, in the form of fees, involved with having access to the expertise of a professional financial planner, but we have found that the value we receive from having access to this expertise far exceeds any costs incurred from engaging G.B. Bose. Given the complexity of managing one's financial life in the 21st century, quality financial advising by an expert is indicated. We have referred friends and acquaintances to G.B. Bose, and like us, they have received personalized advising that fits their needs. Some of our referrals have been at an earlier stage in their financial life, perhaps seeking guidance, but with fewer resources to immediately invest.
