Fellows smartest people I have ever met in my life!
I was a fellow at the Data Incubator. Without a doubt, I can say that I was surrounded by the smartest folks I have ever met in my whole life. The application process, while tough, ensured that the quality of the fellows you meet is amazing. I surrounded by a group of brilliant, intellectually curious, PhDs and masters graduates who were as passionate about data as I was and who taught and drove me to be the data scientist that I am!
For me, making that transition from academia to industry was tough -- I had to turn my back onto the only environment I knew and go into a new, uncharted world of industry. Being with a group of like-minded fellows making the same transition made me feel like I was not alone and gave me an instant network that I keep in close contact with, even today. Plus the advice and support of the staff and instructors was more than I could have asked for -- they helped me at every step of the way, from learning the technical topics like Spark and machine-learning to networking and writing a cover letter.
You will have to dedicate yourself for the full time to the program when you're there but it is well worth it!
