I was a patient of Dr. Gottlieb's when he was practicing in West Hartford, CT. I would never recommend him. He kept poor records and his billing was questionable. When I requested my records after leaving treatment in order to address billing discrepancies w/my insurer, he ignored three written records requests (letter, email and certified letter) and blocked my phone number. It took both a HIPAA complaint and one to the State of Connecticut before I received the records four months later (well past the 30 days mandated by law). The therapy records were woefully incomplete/inadequate and the billing info I requested was not even included. There were several months of appointments completely missing (not so much as a date stamp). Many more were simply blank w/just an electronic date stamp. The few session notes that were entered were largely garbled nonsense because he did not proofread/correct the voice to text entries. In addition to the above behavior being completely unprofessional, I must note that it was devastating to me personally. Find a different provider.

I have been in therapy with Bruce for a number of years. I highly recommend him for anyone who wishes to experience authentic change, vast emotional growth and a deep understanding of themselves. He has helped me more than I can express and I can unequivocally say that his guidance has been life changing for me. I am not the same person as when I started and I will forever be grateful for that.

I have been a colleague of Dr Bruce Gottliebs for over 40 years. I know his work well He is a most ethical, skilled and compassionate psychologist who provides exceptional care to his clients. He is eclectic in his theoretical approach and is thoughtful and devoted to his clients. I have referred many individuals and couples who are interested in working with a therapist to get deeper insight and meaningful change.

I have been in counseling with Bruce on and off for over 15 years. I have progressed through many difficult issues with his guidance. He is authentic, caring and extremely knowledgeable. I have had a few therapists before Bruce, but I never achieved the success and growth I have experienced working with him. His method of therapy is like no other.
