Trying to track down a pediatric orthopedist that would see my 12 month old and help her was so difficult, and yes, it was a bit of a challenge to get an appointment, but it was WELL worth it. Dr. McHale is professional, kind, and has so much experience. She diagnosed her right away and was great with follow up. She even called me back on a Sunday to make sure I understood the results of the x-Ray. Would highly recommend.

Extremely busy and highly professional practice. Dr. McHale fixed a complicated fracture across the growth plates. This involved an initial cast, surgery to place pins, and a final cast. Dr. McHale has been caring for thousands of metro area kids every year. Be prepared to wait during the office visits -- this practice has only one doctor, who is amazingly efficient and kind.

please seek another professional.
As many people noted, the wait is ridiculous. That is a sign of a disorganized office.
Prior to my daughter's painful surgery, I had addressed pain management for the first 36 hours. This fell on deaf ears obviously. I got an apology after, but that did no good for the pain that my child experienced. Granted, part of this falls on Inova Fairfax's shoulders.
In addition, immediately following the surgery, instead of allowing my child's leg to swell as it needed to, they placed a tight-fitting cast. This resulted in emergency removal of the cast in the wee hours.
As for the replacement casts, there was no cleaning of her leg or washcloths for me to even clean up my child's leg. I knew next time to bring my own equipment.
