When I began volunteering for Shes My Daughter, I was extremely happy to be a part of an organization that changes the lives of women for the better. When I first spoke to the Chief Visionary Officer, Mr. Daryl Dudley, I felt welcomed and encouraged to use my voice as a beacon for the light women need. I immediately began writing poems knowing that I would be making a change in womens lives with my voice and that was truly an honor. To me, my poems are a way to express the struggles I have faced as a young woman and I want to let other women know that they are not alone on their journey through life. Every time I record a video of my poetry, every time I write a poem, I think of the amazing opportunity Shes My Daughter is giving me, and with that I am truly grateful.
