Today, I relived Sunday dinner from my childhood.Stopped in after church to order dinner. The baked chicken with dressing, macaroni and cheese, collard greens and cornbread were perfection. And it was enough for three meals. With lemon cake, big enough for two servings, this meal was perfection!! Run, dont walk to get it!!!!

Well worth the drive!! While visiting the Great Wolf Lodge in Perryville, Maryland I was in the mood for some soul food. I googled a few place by looking at the pictures, so Henrys soul cafe in Washington DC caught my eye, Plus I was going to be in the area. Food looked good but I had to wait till I got back to my room to eat because I didnt go to the one with a seating area, No problem though lol but I was hungry. All the sides were delicious, i got the rib plate it was good and tender. My wife got the fried pork chop plate and she loved it. So much food we was eating off each other plate.

Good food, good prices. Was visiting the area and read reviews. Realized this was a place we wanted to try. Worth the visit. The only issue is that we realized later that there are 2 locations, U Street does not offer seating, the other locations does. We had to take our food back to our Air BnB. Wanted the whole dinning experience but the good quality of the food made up for it. So good, we went back for a plate on our way back out of town. Only drawback: no seating area Vegetarian options: offered several non-meat option sides: macaroni and cheese, yams, fried oktra. Not sure if they offer vegan options.
