I lived in DC for awhile, needed a local gynecologist and was glad I found April Rubin nearby. At my first and only appointment with her it appears that she sexually abused me during the physical exam. I'm not making accusations but this is what happened: First, she performed the longest breast exam I've had, seeming to be extra tender and almost caressing. Then, for the pelvic exam she didn't verbalize what she was doing at all and just jammed her fingers in forcefully without a word. My back came off the table and I cried out in pain. She continued routing around and didn't apologise for the discomfort or say a word, making it seem she was doing it purposefully. After the exam she stood there expectantly and told me I could get dressed. She wouldn't leave the room so I quickly put my underwear and clothes on my naked body. After, I was ashamed of how I let her treat me and I never went back for my "follow up" appointment. I thought because she was a doctor that maybe I misunderstood what happened. Especially a gynecologist. But now, some years later, I realize she was the worst gyn I ever had and she shouldn't be practicing at all except maybe on dolls. Even then, hide your dolls! Highly unrecommended.

Really terrible service. The woman who works at the front desk could not be more indifferent about her job. She is rude, unhelpful, and barely bothers to answer the phone. The office and medical equipment is really outdated; there are medical exam posters on the walls that are literally from the 1980s. Also, they wanted to charge me $50 to access my own medical records. Since I had only been to the office twice, my medical records were no more than a page long. It is not only ridiculous but also illegal to charge this much for medical records. Absolutely ridiculous. Horrible place, avoid at all costs.

Nurse/office assistant was consistently rude, cold, and unprofessional. I felt like I was walking on eggshells from the moment I said hello: super unwelcoming. Doctor herself initially seemed nice, but their office told me AND my insurance rep one thing about my coverage and billing before I visited, and then did something totally different which was going to make me pay a huge amount out of pocket, unexpectedly. Then, when I called to see how we could work something out, flat out refused to help rectify the situation in any way. Was a very stressful, annoying situation. Would not recommend, especially for new patients.

Insanely rude and not helpful office assistant. All the reviews are on point. Definitely not going back.
