Awful experience. I was referred here for gum surgery. As soon as I walked in the door, the cost of my procedure had increased from $575 to $840 with no clear explanation for the increase from the original treatment plan.I was seen by a doctor who was different from the one who had done my initial consultation and treatment plan since he had since left the practice. This doctor did a re-evaluation, adding more teeth to the plan and changing from donor tissue to grafted tissue. He administered the anesthesia -- painful and unpleasant -- and THEN had the front desk staff come in with the cost of the new treatment plan that was now over $1500! I was supposed to approve or decline this while already on pain killers with half my mouth numbed. I felt incredibly uncomfortable and taken advantage of by this situation.These business practices are sneaky and underhanded. I felt like I was at a rental car company for the first time being sold unnecessary insurance to jack up the cost. Needless to say I will not be completing my dental work with this practice. Buyer BEWARE!

I guess they did good work, but their billing and business practices are high-pressure, super confusing, and seemed shady to me. Go here and you'll end up paying a lot more than you thought, and then you'll get weird bills that don't make any sense, but they've got you and you have to pay. Very upsetting experience.

STAY AWAY! Deceitful billing practices!!! When they don't get the money they want from your insurance they will re-bill under different codes to get what they want, knowing that the burden will fall on the patient. They do not attempt to get proper clearance prior to procedures. Sneaky, sneaky, sneaky business practices. I guess someone has to pay for the office expansion and renovation.

I was referred to DC Perio for a gum graft and have had a very positive experience with Dr. Abron and the team. I have had grafts done in the past by a different periodontist (and my father was my general dentist growing up) before moving to the DC area, and was very pleased with Dr. Abron's professionalism, the full price disclosure/discussion of options before the procedure, and the comfort level during the procedure, as well as the measures the office has taken to be as "COVID-proof" as possible. Something in particular I want to note is that when I experienced a minor complication a week after the procedure, Dr. Abron responded immediately to my call to the office's answering service and came out to the office on a weekend to help contain the situation. Considering I am a relatively new patient, I cannot thank him enough for his help, and would recommend anyone that is looking for a very comfortable and metro-accessible setting with the personal touch of your family dentist.

I was referred here by my general dentist (and another, for a second opinion) because of severe gum recession at 31 years old. At my first appointment with Dr. Jose, he did a thorough evaluation of my teeth and determined that a gum grafting surgery (2 of them, since you cannot do the right and left side simultaneously) was the best course of action to reverse the recession. I expressed my fears and anxiety with this, and he told me that was completely normal and that fear shouldn't stop me from having healthy gums that would prevent tooth loss and improve sensitivity, and leading an orally healthy life. He was reassuring, informative, and kind. I had some trouble with the insurance company and coordinating with the front desk at this office, but we were able to get it solved. When I came in for the procedure, the staff greeted me with smiles, which made me feel better, and helped administer the sedative/valium. The procedure took about 2 hours. I wish the post-op instructions that the staff had given my husband when I was wheeled out of surgery were more thorough (we got home and realized we didn't know how to apply the gel, to the teeth or gums, or whether I could drink through a straw, etc.) but we figured it out. I came in for my 2-week post op and was told it was healing nicely. I went in today to have the stitches removed and Dr. Jose said the gums had healed amazingly well. I'm very grateful to him and his staff for their good work to help people feel better and preserve their gums, bones, and teeth. In addition, I would like to note that Dr. Jose was incredibly responsive whenever I had questions after the surgery. He responded to me promptly and in detail and I was grateful for this level of "customer service." H even called me to check in. He has a nice bedside manner and clearly does good work, as my healing process was quick and successful.
