Edlavitch Jewish Community Center of Washington, DC

We had a great January toddler birthday party at the JCCs toddler space. Facility is well designed, just right tables and furniture, and perfect for little ones to run and tumble and play in a bright, padded play space on a winter afternoon. The reception staff was friendly and helpful too. Everyone had fun.

I grew up as an active jewish community member in my synagogue in Berkeley, CA so naturally when I moved to DC I joined the JCC. I even sought employment in the summer camp and preschool. HORRIBLE decision. For context, I'm bi-racial, black and white and jewish. Not that I should have to share this information, but my white mother is jewish and therefore I'm without a doubt jewish. Nonetheless, I experienced RACISM to such a disgusting degree that I'd never recommend this place to anyone. In fact, I think this particular JCC should be ashamed of itself. I hope that if any families of color are considering becomes members--find another place!

Trying to book swim lessons for our son. Registration closed online 2 or 3 days after I looked it up and the instructions were to send an email for registration. The person that is in charge of Aquatics, this Brittany, is completely and utterly unprofessional, unresponsive, doesnt answer your questions or phonecalls and takes forever to reply. I have been trying to register now for maybe 4 days!
