The worst service I have ever received at a bank in my life. What exactly are these useless "employees" being paid to do? I recently opened an account with Truist. The senior relationship banker told me my funds would be available at midnight. I then find out after my card was declined that my funds weren't available yet and there was a hold due to a phone number mismatch. So, I visited Rhode Island Ave and wanted to get my money back and close my account. Shola was the rudest experience I've literally ever had at a bank in my life. Dismissive, self centered, and basically made me feel like she didn't care about helping me. Didn't smile once the entire conversation. Also made me wait for a long time when there were no other customers. So rude. She was convinced my card worked after we spoke so I visited Jersey Mike's down the block to test it out but once again my card was declined. I then came back and the door was locked. She recognized me and came to the door but still condescendingly stood there and made me ring the doorbell. Then Nayyirah took me to her cubicle and did nothing. I was shocked. I told her my phone was given to me by another person and customer service had an issue with the name mismatch. And so I asked if I can use a google phone number. And she said "I don't know." And then I'm like if you don't know then why don't you call someone and figure it out. She was useless. So is Truist paying her to do nothing? If you don't know find out! She expected me to do all the work when I had wasted 3 hours of my life commuting to and discussing these issues. I HATE HER. I explained this was my only account and I literally need to buy food. I am suing. She wouldn't call to see if my check cleared and did nothing. Stop paying her. I'm speaking to a lawyer and considering a lawsuit. I'm starving due to having no money at this moment and she does not care. She wouldn't help me quit the bank. She just acts quiet. I HATE HER. FIRE HER!!!

I deposited a cashier's check from the Pentagon Federal Credit Union in person at a local branch where a bank employee examined and deposited the check. A couple of days later, I checked on the deposit and discovered the check had been placed on hold for almost two weeks. The next day, when I called to ask why the check was being held for so long and to request the hold be lifted. The agent replied that the hold was to protect me from fraudulent activity and that this was the banks policy and therefore, they could not override the hold.  I researched the Federal government regulations concerning bank's hold policy and found that cashier's checks and government issued checks are held for one day and the time frame for the amount I deposited was up to seven days unless the customer was not in good standing, the source of the check was questionable, or the deposit was made at an ATM. None of these exceptions applied to my deposit. The regulation also states that bank holds can be overridden. Consequently, I decided to change banks and while processing my new account paperwork the bank employee mentioned that their branch manager was a former Truist employee and that recently a number of Truist customers had switched to their bank.Incredibly as I was nearing completion of the paperwork, I saw a former Truist employee in the new banks line.It was then I knew I had made the right decision. This is a bad bank.
