Advocate with Faith

As a parent of child with special needs, I educated myself about the laws and services that public schools have to provide to students with special needs, and I thought I was doing a good job when I met with the school district educators and administrators. However, the more I read about special education and the services that are available, the more I realized that I needed an education advocate to review my child's academic records because I looked at them with too much emotion and not enough objectivity. An ABA BCBA therapist recommended Advocate with Faith, and that has proven to be one of the best pieces of advice that I have gotten. Advocate with Faith was founded and is run by Faith Filiault. Faith is warm, friendly, attentive, professional, and most importantly, an organized and objective advocate who analyzes the paper trail of educational documents, actively listens to parents and educators, and connects the student's needs and the parents' vision with the provisions in IDEA and matches them up with the school district's programs. It is this step that often frustrates parents and puts school administrators on edge because parents demand what is best for their child but districts are often limited to what is free and appropriate. In our situation, Faith negotiated for us and bridged this gap and the district and my family are both very satisfied with the results and the IEP for the upcoming school year. Faith was objective, polite, professional, and steadfast. She listened to both sides and came up with a plan that exceeds our expectations yet doesn't put a strain on the school district's resources. After the IEP meeting, Faith has remained in contact with me to follow up on any concerns that I have and to ensure that the school district is following through on their side. My family and I are very pleased with Faith and the education advocacy services that she provided and will continue to provide to my family for the foreseeable future. After a poor experience with an attorney I sought Faith's help. She is professional, knowledgable and a fantastic advocate. What's a bonus is her earnest nature. Faith cares about her clients as well as their families. She is not afraid to consult attorneys if she is not sure of the answer but more often than not she knows it. I recommend her full heartedly. She did more for our case in the first 8 days of having employed her than our attorney did in 2 years. She has worked with us for almost a year now and I am constantly pleasantly surprised at how on top of everything she is. So nice to just be mom.
