I hired CSP Construction (Craig Pelligrini) to repair a sagging gutter on my front porch so that water wouldn't cascade over the edge when it rained. Craig worked on the gutter 5/15/19. He removed the mesh covers (which kept out a lot of debris but not the smallest) and put in a new strap in an attempt to raise the sagging portion of the gutter. The first significant rain came 5 days later and water cascaded over the edge. I learned from This Old House that the way to correct a sagging gutter is to detach it, adjust the pitch, then reattach it. I called Craig and asked if he would return and find a solution to the problem. He came on 6/8/19 and told me it was my fault that the gutter was overflowing because he found maple tree spinners in the gutter. The gutter was perfectly clean on 5/15 and the gutter overflowed on 5/20. Maybe Craig thinks homeowners should clean their gutters every day. He'd rather offer a dumb reason like that than admit he did a lousy job. I'm out $200 and my gutter is in worse shape than before Craig's "repair." Before he touched it, I at least had a metal mesh cover that kept most of the debris out.
