I agree with the previous bad reviews.  Horrible experience, no one knew what was going on and it dragged on for months, way past the point that it should have until the sellers threatened to walk.  Not only that, but they were going to charge me more money to extend my rate lock until I fought that too because the lock expired due to their incompetency.  And I was given the same assurances by my RE agent about how great they are and how they are fast and really know their stuff and will get you the best rate.  Thank god they sold my mortgage before my first payment was even due, because I really didn't want them holding my note after such a poor experience.  Don't walk, RUN, away from this company.  If I could give them -5 stars I would.

Terrible mortgage company.  Nobody knows what they are doing. Information is delayed to the point where the seller didn't know the closing date, so the closing date got pushed back.  I didn't know what the closing cost were until the day of closing. I used a VA loan type and they had no clue on what to do. If your a veteran using them for a VA loan, just walk away. It cost me way more money to close using them than if I usef usaa or united bank. I give them zero stars. Please do not use them.

Bad experience.They drag on for ever. Half the people don't know what they are doing. Customer service is awful. They wasted so much time refinancing my home that it ended up costing me extra mortgage payments at a higher rate for an extra 6 months. The entire process took over 9 months. Should have been at most a 2-3 month process. The level of incompetence was staggering. Look else where for a mortgage broker. Look else where.

I trusted our realtor with helping us find a mortgage company that would be trustworthy.  I was told they have a flawless, professional relationship with this company and they work well with each other.  That was SO wrong.  My family sold our home in early march, and didn't close on our new home until mid july.  That left a family with small children homeless for months, staying with friends and living without our things.  They constantly had paperwork delays, excuses, and gave me an attitude for being "impatient."  Would never, ever, recommend them to anybody.  Even our attorney's office agreed that we were treated terribly, but there was nothing we could do because we had already invested so much time and money getting the loan through CHM.

I was a repeat customer of CT Home Mortgage (affiliated with Prudential Connecticut Realty) in Middletown, CT, refinancing with them 2 times.  I had decent success with rates and fees.  On the 3rd try, the service completely fell apart.  They utilized an appraisal firm, Hunt Appraisal Services in Simsbury, CT, which provided an appraisal with inappropriate comparables (for example, using houses that were 40% of the square footage of my house) and multiple errors in the appraisal.  I filed a complaint with the State of Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection against both of them.  The mortgage broker refused to support my position in any way.  More troubling, I called and e-mailed the broker time after time, and she would not respond to me at all on the status of my file.  I asked for a refund of the appraisal fee.  Once again, they did not return my calls.  Feeling completely helpless, I disputed the appraisal fee (thankfully, I had the sense to use a credit card).  To add to my experience, CT Home Mortgage refused to let it go and fought me and my credit card company until the very end.The credit card company upheld my dispute, but not after I spent countless hours preparing documentation on my complaint...a complete waste of my time.Will not be using CT Home Mortgage again.  If this is how they treat a repeat customer, I can only imagine how they would treat a first time customer in the same situation.
