Home owner insurance premium doubled in two years. I found better coverage with much much lower premium with another major insurance company. Now it has been 3 weeks trying to cancel the policy with these guys. Stay away.

I have worked with several insurance agencies and agents in the past. Virginia Bonaparte at Raveis has been the worst I have dealt with. She brought me Proper insurance policy, which was a nightmare. Proper first took money from my bank account through a third party payments company called IPFS, and then went ahead a made another withdrawal for the entire annual premium from my escrow account. Lots of unexplained accounting discrepancies. Proper would not talk to clients directly, and Virginia would never clarify the accounting of unexplained charges to me. Finally I canceled Proper policy and never received an explanation from Virginia about the amount of the refund which was about 400$ less than the prorated amount (I showed the exact math to Virginia in an email). Raveis is supposed to manage all communications per the policy but never gave me a line by line breakdown to explain why the refund was less than the pro-rated amount on the policy. Just sent a curt email saying there was a policy fee, but then there is no documentation showing what the policy fee is. Then she gave me Proper's phone number to call knowing very well that Proper is not supposed to communicate directly with the client. Emails/calls/voicemails to get this further clarified were never answered. No way to get a supervisor on the phone either and no email contact shared for the supervisor. Never working with Raveis again after this experience.
