Beautiful trail with stunning vistas all the way. We took advice from previous hikers who recommended going counter clockwise or turning north when you reach the Pine Loop Trail sign near the parking spaces located across the road adjacent to the Housatonic river. If you go clockwise, or turn south at the sign, you will have a very sharp decline in the last part of the trail. Either way, it is a very invigorating hike. Two hours for us probably because trail was wet and it was raining.

Beautiful hike started clockwise and walked for like 50 minutes stopping every 10 steps to take pictures and touch the water and also because we had small children with us (3 and 5) and they were able to do this half of hike easily. Didn't go don't the steep side as is was raining and muddy but it was still so beautiful a d enjoyable that we'd do it again
