Food was good at a great price. The drink are a little extra for what they are. It gets packed and hard to find a spot. There is no standing around the bar area.

Really fabulous place, cozy and relaxed, and unpretentious , delicious food. What a great addition to Wooster square , and I cant wait for the new rooftop. This will be my hang in New Haven for sure.

Gioia is a fabulous addition to the New Haven dining world from a team of talented and seasoned local folks. The food is excellent and so fresh and delicious. We especially loved the mussels, broccolini, and many of the pastas, and salads as well as the exceptional gelatos. The from the hearth roasted meats, fish and squash are also wonderful. We also love that there are a number of specialty non-alcoholic drinks on the menu. The space is beautiful, and great for both a relaxed meal or drink or for a very special occasion. The service is also extremely good.. there is a roof top bar and restaurant with a separate menu soon to come and a gelato window thats already open. Vegetarian options: There are many vegetarian and vegan dishes on the menu

Its expensive and just okay. The complimentary garlic knots are so tiny its comical, tasty though. The best item on the menu is the Cacio y Pepe gnocchi. Everything else was okay, nothing spectacular. I had high hopes for this place!

4.5! Loved our experience at Gioia! Beautiful airy space, great for a group or a date night. Love the open concept kitchen and the beautiful bar. The drinks were fantastic!!! Highly recommend all the cocktails - especially loved the tequila and pear one. Starters were great- very veg forward and something for everyone. The pastas come in half or full sizes- we got the full size- no regrets! They were very accommodating of allergies and clear about what they could do. Vegetarian options: Lots of veg starters and mains Dietary restrictions: Very accommodating of dairy and soy allergies- there are many options available in the menu and the chefs are happy to omit ingredients etc. Kid-friendliness: We brought our infant for dinner at 5:30 and they were very chill about it and gave us a corner table.
