Worst jewelry store in Connecticut he uses fake stones he discolor your jewelry and wont take responsibility to fix it I honestly think hes Racist towards black and Hispanic people but dont get it twisted hell still take your money and hell definitely overcharge you

I have never encountered a business owner as obnoxious and aggressive as the owner of American Diamond Exchange.  The staff there have always been  courteous and professional. In looking at the reviews, it appears that people who dealt with Ally (or some other associate) were happy and those who dealt with the owner had unpleasant experiences... today I had my first contact with the owner.  He should not be anywhere near customers.  He has a rude and abusive demeanor, topped off with unreasonable policies, and his prices for simple repairs seem a bit high.  I had  forgotten my claim ticket when I went to pick up some items that I had left there for minor repairs.  He took my ID, I thought just to verify ownership of the items.  Instead he made a copy of my driver's license without telling me first.  I told him that seemed a bit presumptuous and "kind of crazy" to copy people's driver's licenses without asking permission.  I got  my ID and the copy back and came back with my claim ticket later that day.  While a nice professional lady was helping me, I told her that I would like to speak with the owner about his policy after he finished with another customer. I was explaining to her that my bank card  and my I.D. had the same information as the claim ticket I had to retrieve, (not to mention that I had detailed knowledge of the items), and they should have been sufficient for me to claim my items.  I saw no reason to copy my license or require the ticket and was seeking an explanation. The owner over heard this conversation and started berating me in a loud aggressive manner from across the room, while he was dealing with another customer.  Then another customer ( that had no involvement and no one was talking to) who was speaking with an entirely different sales person  joined the owner's argument at me. That person made some vaguely threatening comments and stared me down for the 5 minutes or so that it took the sales person helping me to finish. None of he staff asked him to stop.I never raised my voice or said anything disrespectful to anyone at any time. The owner threatened to show the security camera video to the police.   This story is so bizarre it probably sounds made up; I hope he does involve the police so that I can get a copy of it to post. As I was leaving the owner told me to never come back to his store. I told him not to worry about that, it would never happen. There's plenty of other jewelry stores. I suggest everyone stay away from this one.
