Eli Whitney Apartments

I stayed at Eli Whitney for 2.5 years and enjoyed the experience! The apartment was well maintained and managed. Another plus is the location, which is safe and close to the East Rock park and Yale shuttle stop.

I only have bad memories from here. I lived at this building for 3 years. Every tenant accepts that noise is an issue they have to deal with to live in this building at a reasonable price. You are simply walking in your room and your neighbor would complain that you walk too loud. Laundry and dry machine seem not to be maintained at all - clothes always come out with dusts. Valuable packages are stolen or missing in my most cases. I lost valuable items several times due to the poor management but the lease office does not cooperate with you well to figure out what happened to your packages. They never reached out to me back after saying they will investigate the case. I lived in a unit with carpet. The quality of the carpet is so bad that it does not absorb noise and causes skin irritation. One neighbor had leak issue on ceiling. The solution the maintenance team could apply was to just seal gaps between bathtub faucets and wall of the unit upstairs. Scammers get into the building an knock the doors. Location is not very nice for grocery shopping if you dont drive a car. Still there are some strengths of this apartment. Parking is free. They work hard on snow removal in winter.

While I have no problem with the tenants per sa I am most disappointed by one particular tenant who went out of her way to fabricate stories about my delivery experience. Andrea S ordered groceries from Instacart and because I asked her to meet me to collect her items she was disgruntled and acted out of character which lead me to return her items to the store which was approved by Customer Support, she then reported that I was disruptive at the apartment building and I was not. Shame on her for lying. Which got my service suspended.

Since I cannot update my review from 7 months ago (I don't think). I am adding that I have been here for a while now and have the intention of staying. The rent amount is reasonable, any requests for maintenance are always taken care of in timely manner.
