Town Cleaners of Monroe

My family and I use[d] Town Cleaners for the longest time. I recall the ownership changed a few years ago. Both owners -- old and new -- always did the work professionally, and we were always happy with their services. ...that is, until recently. A few weeks ago, I gave them several neckties to dry clean. They cleaned the ties, but later in the day after picking them up, I found that the stitching to the label of one tie had come out. I took it back the next day, and explained that it was damaged in dry cleaning. I asked if the owner would stitch it without charging me, and I thought she agreed to that. When I went to pick up the tie, she had cleaned it, and expected the payment. I told her I thought we agreed to it being free, and reminded her that it was damaged in cleaning, but she protested, so I paid. I was very disappointed. I couldn't even benefit from the tie being cleaned, since it was already clean before I gave it. While they fixed the stitching, they were the ones who damaged the tie to begin with. It was very unfair that they still charged me, essentially to fix their mistake. I gave them three stars since all their other services had been good. But, as the saying goes, "past heroism is no excuse for present misconduct." So, unless Town Cleaners sees this and offers me a refund (in which case, I will take this review down), I shall not be returning.
