Old Street Dim Sum and Hot Pot

We just moved to the area from Brooklyn and had been craving dim sum. I would say this place is just ok. Things tasted blander than we are used to. Not bad exactly, just not amazing, just ok. Just ok for pretty pricey dim sum IMO. The biggest let down was probably the egg tart. Not even close to taste on what we expected. Plates in Chinatown go for $4-6 and here they start at 7 with most being 8 or more. We definitely left full and the service was very friendly. But probably wont be back due to food taste and price.

Went here for dim sum, would like to try hot pot at a later date. It was delicious! We got an assortment of steamed buns, fried dumplings, meat dishes, and appetizers, and there was nothing we didnt love! The staff was extremely friendly and attentive. They also helped us after we left, when we realized we dropped a wallet and lost it there. They took my number and called me when they found it after they closed. They even asked for verification that the wallet was ours, which I appreciated, and all the card and cash were still inside! I absolutely love this place, particularly compared to KPOT down the road which is always packed and has horrible service.

I wasnt expecting the restaurant to be so beautiful inside! The booths in the middle were very private with the way the layout was, and they had a nice party room in the back with individual hot pot stations. I liked that we could do two broths at the same time, because my fianc loves his spicy, but I just like the standard pork bone broth. The prices were reasonable with all you can eat hot pot at $49.99 a person. We also loved everything we had from the dim sum menu, with a new favorite for being the rice roll with beef! Everything came out quickly despite being a busy Friday night, and I dont usually love ordering off of iPads, but it made sense in this case because everything was photographed and you could scroll through the whole menu. I would definitely come back here again!
