This is the worst program ever, just go directly through Basic needs. Everyone who works there is ill equiped for the job and when they mess up your paperwork,and you call them on it, they will just give you an attitude. When I questioned my ABH worker to his supervisor she told me "Their are people out there who need this more then you because at least you are working"....excuse me? I had only been out of rehab for 2 months and had just been employed. As an dually diagnosed individual I needed so much help to stay clean and mentally well and how I haven't relapsed due to all the stress and uncertainty that I was met with is only from the work of my higher power. This program needs a complete overhaul and strong training programs for their employees. I could go on and on about how poorly I have been treated as far as getting attitudes and no compassion, how I do my part and can not get ahold of my ABH worker when it's their turn to process my paperwork, and the complete horse and pony show that is first displayed to you and then the fear of relapse, homelessness, and distrust that is the end result. I almost wonder if this is just a middlesex county problem as I have never endured this when living in eastern connecticut.

Advanced Behavioral Health Inc. is an awesome resource for families in CT. We have connected with Avery, a great staff member that has provided us with information about the SAFE program for families in recovery who are in need of mental health and/or substance abuse help. This is a great organization staffed with amazing people!
