I was having my tax returns done by a firm in Danbury (since 1983) that was recommended to me by by a business partner. I had a feeling that something was not quite right as I seemed to be paying more tax than I thought I should. And yes, I know we all feel that way, but we were talking six figures more. As such, I had this firm review my tax returns for the the past 3 years. Long story short, the good news was that I was able to get back over $54,000 in overpayments. The bad news is that I wonder how much more I was overpaying since 1983 since there is a limit on how far you can have your taxes reviewed. I highly recommend this firm. Regardless if you have to pay more or get a refund, you can bet the farm that it will be accurate - and they will be looking out for your interests, not the IRS'.
