I used them for years without incident, but then my clothes consistently came back without the stains removed on the first try and then they ended up tearing the fabric close on the pants of my suit. When I pointed out the tear they didn't seem surprised. They made the repair but the close flap never laid flat again.  I ended up throwing out the entire $300 suit.

As I can see from previous reviews, the owner or whomever manages their reviews does not take constructive criticism well, but I will type what exactly happened and they can confirm it. I've been a customer of Katies (10+yrs). - let me preface by saying this location has two entrances - one on Putnam and one in the back parking lot of CVS- I went in yesterday afternoon - via back entrance- , yes, 4:40pm (they close at 5pm). I had 5 men's dress shirts in hand to leave for dry cleaning. The older gentleman was at the front finishing up with customer. I rang the bell for him to know I was there. Mind you, they have security cameras in the entire place and a monitor in the front to see when someone is waiting in the back. I waited...2 minutes, he didn't come. I gave benefit of the doubt that he was finishing up, so I rang again, the customer up front had long gone. THE MAN SAW ME AND REFUSED TO TAKE A FEW STEPS TO THE BACK TO HELP ME. I couldn't believe it. I took my items and left. This place obviously doesn't need me as a customer anymore. I used to go there for alterations as well. Terrible, terrible customer service. The original staff was always so friendly, including the female owner. I haven't seen her or the staff in quite a while. Perhaps this elderly gentleman is the owner as well. One thing for sure is whomever reads this and runs their reviews, please let them know that they did a terrible disservice to a long going customer, because the old man refused to take a few steps to the back to collect a sale. If this is such a problem, perhaps only keep one entrance. In the meantime, I took my business elsewhere, and will continue to do so from now on. Anyone else, good luck, hopefully you won't ever experience the same terrible customer service, your sale is what they care about, not your overall customer satisfaction.
