In December of 2020 I purchased a Cub Cadet 2X 30" MAX Snow Blower, it was used for the few snow storms we had during that season and put in a garage. While moving the snow blower in July of 2021 I noticed that the wheels were loose and had a lot of play, I checked it out and both wheels freely pulled out of the housing. I contacted Home Depot and they told me I could bring it in and "if it was a warranty issue they would fix it for free" but if it wasn't I would need to pay for it. Allegedly the keyways used on this model were wrong from Cub Cadet and Home Depot fixed it without cost to me. In the following two winters we didn't have enough snow to justify using a snow blower to clear it. Fast forward to today and the first snow of 2024, both wheels fell off during use in the same manner they did the first time. Upon calling Home Depot the response was "Bring it to Kesheta Power Equipment in South Windsor and maybe Cub Cadet will pay for it to get fixed." In the four or five times I've used this snow blower the wheels have fallen off twice and the Glastonbury Home Depot has done next to nothing to assist with the issues the brand new machine they sold has. At this point I am assuming when they put it together they completely messed it up and the machine is likely scrap due to their negligence and failure to check their own "repair" work. Hopefully a power equipment location can give me good news but I will never purchase a Cub Cadet machine nor will I be purchasing any kind of tool or equipment from this or any other Home Depot location again. The only thing they're good for is twisted 2x4s and a bathroom when you don't have any other choice.
