Against all the negative reviews, I went for my annual eye exam to JCPenney optical.
I learned recently they brought on a new doctor, Dr Pam. She was so thorough with her evaluation of my eyes, but had me out in no time. Eased my anxiety for sure. I was greeted by Christine and Lori on the retail side whom communicated with the Dr of my prescription and health which was great. Christine and Lori both helped show me the frames on display and helped explain my prescription and insurance coverage. They made sure if I had questions, they were there to answer. I purchased two pairs of glasses using my benefits and look forward to getting them.

The customer service, or lack of I should say, was horrible. I made an appointment for an eye exam & glasses. I was asked specifically what insurance I have & even for the # off my insurance card, & was told yes they accept my insurance. I was also asked if I would be getting glasses and/or contacts & I said glasses. At the appointment, after the eye exam, I was THEN informed that they do NOT accept my insurance for glasses; only for eye exam. When I asked why was I not told this on the phone, the woman literally said "That's just the way it is." I asked again, needing clarification, & she again gave the same answer. Going there for eye exam but not glasses makes NO sense. I had to go to another place for glasses. The intentional misrepresentation of information & rude customer service was appalling & I'll absolutely never go there again & will also inform others of my negative experience.

I would definitely recommend their services. My experience was pleasant. He helped me find the perfect frame and fit for my face.
Safety to their customer is very important . The store is clean and the frames are sterilized before the customers try them out. Any issues you have with your glasses..it's resolved without a hassle. I want to thank them for their service and patience.
