    I have been a patient here for over 8 years. My daughter and husband have also been patients here. We have always received excellent care, I find the front desk staff to be very helpful, and my physician, Dr. Lautenbach takes a personal interest in her patients. Her nurse assistant, Desmarais, is professional, friendly and also very responsive to phone messages and medication refills. Highly recommend.

    Terrible service! They treat patients like case numbers; they only have two physicians for the many number of patients they have so they are overbooked. They have a quick turnaround for one of the doctors so you can’t even build a doctor-patient relationship with your physician. I was “fired” by their practice because of the feedback I provided to them. Never responsive, never got to meet my new doctor, I always had to see the nurse practitioner who always needed to check with her anyway and on top of that, the nurses had an attitude!

    Ok, so her goes... I recently moved down to Rowayton from Branford, Ct and I was searching for a new Dr as my Dr. was now too far away to see. I searched my insurance website and found Soundview. They seemed like a great find. Close, good reviews, etc... I contacted them and at first they told me that Dr. Schwartz was not taking new patients. They later called me back and told me he would take me as a new patient. So I set up an appointment for what I thought was a physical. When I arrived it was explained that it was just a wellness visit and they would schedule the physical. The earliest appointment they could give was months away. So we scheduled it. I was told that first I would need blood drawn 2 weeks beforehand. Ok, so we scheduled that and what I actually liked was they were able to do it in the office. No travelling to see offsite lab. Then came the day of the physical. I arrived in the office early to fill out paperwork, etc.. and the receptionist hands me a laundry list of charges for all the tests they would do during the physical. I asked her why they were giving this to me and she stated that it was just in-case my insurance didn't cover all or part of it I would be responsible. Now, according to my insurance this is an in-network office and I explained this to her. She said yes but sometimes they do tests that are not covered by insurance. I asked her to point those out. She said it depended on the insurance. I then asked why this information wasn't disclosed to me when I made the appointment or when I came in 2 weeks before to have blood work done. She said "that's not how we do things here". I explained that I was very upset that they waited until the day of the actual physical, which took months to schedule, to tell me this. If I had known earlier or had been given a copy of the list of test beforehand, I could have contacted my insurance to discuss any possible tests they might not cover. She asks do I want to discuss it with the doctor and I said yes. So they take me in to an exam room to wait. When the Dr. finally blows in, he states that he can't give me a complete physical without performing all the tests. I stated my case about not being informed sooner so he said why do they we reschedule and you can contact your insurance. I said that was fine. He then quickly reviewed my blood work with me and said all tests were good but that my cholesterol was slightly elevated and I should change my diet a little to correct it. When I asked how, (here's the kicker) he said I could "Google it" for more info! Are you kidding!? What do I need a doctor for then!
