Besides being committed to delivering the best standardized care possible for both his oncology and hematologic patients, he is just as committed to ensuring and developing a personalized care/relationship with each one of his patients. He believes in the complete care of the patient both physical and emotional. He expects and encourages this approach as well with all staff members who are involved in patient care. When he is not at work, you can find him either running on a town path, surf casting from the ocean shore or tending to his vegetable garden in his town community garden.

Dr. Rella is an EXCEPTIONAL doctor!!! I interviewed doctors in two states and five different hospitals, and was recommended to Dr. Rella by the doctors who trained him at Columbia Presbyterian in New York City. I used to go to a nearby facility, but soon learned that convenience is not an option when it comes to being proactive about my own healthcare. I am grateful to Dr. Joseph Bowen because by being rude to me while I was in a medical crisis, I learned the invaluable lesson to never settle for mediocre care!
