Our pets have been patients for the past 10 years. When we rescued a reactive GSD with high anxiety issues from neglect and suspected abuse, everyone at the clinic went out of their way to make the experience more enjoyable for her. For free, they even had a tech meet with her once a week for 30 min just to get treats and love, and they helped us find a great behaviorist. We are so grateful for the love and compassion they showed her. Since she has passed, we have another GSD who is a huge mamas boy, and they are great with him as well. They have supported and encouraged delayed neutering to help prevent cancers and hip/joint issues. For our indoor only cat, they have always been very honest about what treatments he needs and what he doesnt since he hasnt been outside in his 11 years with us. I appreciate the honesty and not nickel and diming us. Roaring Brooks vets, techs and reception team honestly care about our pets and family. Thank you for the compassion, pet healthcare and wonderful bedside manner.

Please speak to staff about communicating better. My experience there was with a sick/dying dog. The clinic was told 20min prior to arrival that the dog couldnt stand and please have a stretcher. Upon arrival nobody was ready and no stretcher was brought out. Instead, techs said they could carry and unfortunately when picking the dog up, whos very heavy, he shreaked in pain and started sinking as they were carrying him. This couldve been avoided with a stretcher and good communication that an emergency was arriving. This is so important because in an owners final times with a pet, they go over every moment in their head for days. One cry of pain may not have seemed like a big deal to staff but to a pet in pain or a fur Mom, its something thats not forgotten and couldve been avoided. I know the Veterinary field is busy now but please take a moment to remind staff to communicate and not cut corners. A simple communication from front desk to techs and proper preparation for a large animal with a stretcher wouldve made a big difference. Thank you Response to reply: "the stretcher is cumbersome" says it all. Also, unfortunately sorry doesnt change the realities of that day.

My family started using Roaring Brook for all of our animals a few years ago and have had wonderful experiences everytime. From our dog who is anxious about his routine appointments, to our cat who purrs so much while at the vet's it is hard to hear his respiratory rate, to most importantly how they handled my cat Gimli's emergency and ultimately end of life a couple of months later. Their whole staff from receptionists, vet techs, and vet's have so much compassion and professionalism. I would definitely reccomend them as a vet and more than anything just want to share some positivity their way.

I am sorry that you feel that way. Your concerns were communicated to the staff. Our stretcher is cumbersome and we would have had to lift your pet to the stretcher and your pet may have cried still. We would also have to worry about navigating the wide stretcher through our narrow hallway. There are reasons for not using the stretcher. Our staff is extremely compassionate and would never do anything purposefully. Our goal with with a dying pet is to try and make it as peaceful as possible. Our staff truly does care. We apologize for not meeting your expectations.
